The Cinderella Syndrome

With a slightly sarcastic tone, I drafted and designed an article about the fact that there is an unrealistic vision of Cinderella that is continually forced on young girls via ultra skinny Barbie dolls, Disney movies, beauty pageants, and diets that continuously take these fake ideals as a vision of reality.

This piece would function as an insert in Vanity Fair. My goal was to disrupt the story of Cinderella by pulling Disney’s seemingly innocent fairytale into a new stark light, while comparing it to the original Grimms’ tale with images that point out the vivid reality.
